Intelligent advice

We advise cities bidding for sports events, primarily the Olympic Games and Olympic Winter Games.

Iain Macleod has been working with Olympic Games and Olympic Winter Games candidate cities, and other sports organisations since 1997. He works by gathering intelligence, providing analysis, and consulting on international relations and bid strategy. As an example, in 2002 he produced two reports that were said to have had a significant role in persuading the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, to push ahead with the successful London 2012 Olympic bid. Iain’s role with London, which had begun in 1997, ended in August 2003 after which he was offered the opportunity to advise the city of Paris.

We also offer communications services to sports organisations. As well as the services listed on our Communications page, we are uniquely placed to advise on the relationship between sports organisations and the media. Sports organisations need to appreciate the diverse opportunities offered by TV, radio, print media, and internet. Small organisations with limited budgets can, with careful planning, achieve many improvements in their communications.
